Flowstone Industrial Flooring Ltd was recently asked to install a hard wearing anti-slip flooring system to refurbish Broadcrown Generators in Newtown. The area of works was 1,200 sq. and took the team 5 days.
The surface preparation work Flowstone carried out was a vacuum shot blast and hundreds of isolated repairs carried out with the help of the product Reepare PR400 S.P. This product was specified as it provides a nonskid and abrasive resistant surface, with good resistance to dilute acids, petrol, diesel, oil and grease. This was ideal for the Broadcrown warehouse which would be manufacturing diesel generators.
The flooring specification included the application of Reepol’s substrate primer, Reeprime EP550 due to oil contamination on the concrete.
Broadcrown required an anti-slip surface because of the lubricants used on site, however still requesting a high gloss finish. Flowstone installed Reegrip EC017, a high build epoxy resin incorporating anti-slip aggregate to ensure a slip resistant surface, which was necessary due to the lubricants used on the site.
Reegrip EC017 was specified due to its hardwearing properties and the product’s suitability for use in light/heavy industrial areas by tailoring the anti-slip aggregate size to suit the environment. Reegrip is also an extremely hygienic system making it easily-cleanable which was particularly important to our client Broadcrown. This product is also well known for its fast curing properties meaning the client could start using the floor for light traffic within 18 hours of the system being installed.
