As part of a capital development project, FMC Chemicals in Bromborough wanted to invest in a hard-wearing and long-lasting flooring system for their refurbished laboratory.
With excellent chemical and wear resistance, and an expected lifespan exceeding 20 years, Flowstone specified Virtus Resins’ Flowfresh HF, a 6mm polyurethane screed with anti-microbial properties based on Ion technology that proactively fights the build-up of bacteria on a floor’s surface. This system has been installed on behalf of clients such as Nestlé, McVities, Astra Zeneca and GlaxoSmithKline.
Benefits of Flowfresh HF polyurethane screed
Flowfresh HF is ideal for wet processing zones subject to high volumes of foot and wheeled traffic. Flowfresh HF has long been associated with strength, durability and resilience and combines performance with the natural cleaning power of Polygiene. This flooring system delivers a surface product that continuously promotes the concept of hygienic, decontaminated and clean floors. Its coved application delivers a seamless joint-free matt finish and includes a range of benefits:
- HACCP International Certified
- Chemical Resistant
- Easily Cleaned
- Slip Resistant
- Withstands high mechanical stress
- Stain resistant
- Heat resistant to 120°C
Flowfresh HF is a performance based antimicrobial flooring system which inhibits the growth of bacteria, fungi, moulds and mildew. Owing to the inclusion of the Polygiene agent – a silver-ion based antimicrobial treatment placed within the resinous flooring material – Flowfresh HF floor coating system is able to eliminate and destroy up to 99.9% of all bacteria, dirt and nasties landing on the surface.
Being a trowel applied system, Flowstone called upon its skilled screeders who completed the installation over a 2-day period, later returning to complete another area and install a number of joints to seal the floor and give a seamless finish. This enabled FMC chemicals to use the area without any undue delay and without having an impact on production
Need a resin coated screed system?
When it comes to laboratories, industrial, manufacturing and catering environments, whether it be a specific chemical resistance, or an anti-static requirement, there are several resin coating and screed systems designed to offer a high level of performance
