Project Overview
Flowstone Industrial Flooring was appointed to install a Deckshield ID polyurethane car park deck system to an intermediate level at Gloucester Quays Shopping Centre. The project covered approximately 650 square metres and formed part of an upgrade to improve safety, durability and visual consistency within a live retail car park environment.
The area is subject to constant vehicle movement and pedestrian traffic, requiring a robust flooring solution that could perform under daily use while maintaining a clean and professional appearance suitable for a high footfall shopping destination.
The Brief
The client required a flooring system that could withstand high traffic from vehicles while improving safety for pedestrians using the deck. Slip resistance was a key requirement, along with waterproof protection to safeguard the concrete substrate beneath. The works also needed to be completed efficiently with minimal disruption to shoppers and centre operations.

Our Solution
We specified and installed the Deckshield ID system, a proven polyurethane resin solution designed specifically for intermediate car park decks. The system provides excellent abrasion resistance and long term protection against vehicle traffic, oil contamination and general wear.
A broadcast non slip aggregate was incorporated into the system to improve traction across parking bays and access routes. This significantly reduces the risk of slips for pedestrians and improves tyre grip for vehicles, particularly in wet conditions.
The finished surface delivers a seamless, hard wearing and easy to maintain deck coating that meets both performance and aesthetic requirements.
